Davie Furey is renowned for being one of Ireland’s most respected and beloved musicians and songwriters. Now he is ready to play to Ireland and the rest of the world his hugely anticipated new album, Haunted Streets.
The album is due to be released on the 19th of February, with the artist building on the success he received from his debut album Easy Come, Easy Go, released two years ago.
Celebrity fans and musicians highly praised Davie on his first album. Jeremy Irons said “I LOVE this album”, while fellow musician Christy Moore said “Congratulations Davie on a lovely album …….a fine, fine record”.
Now that Davie has returned to release his second album, Haunted Streets, let’s see what we can expect to hear from the brand new Celtic, folk-rock masterpiece.
Haunted Streets features some of Ireland’s top musicians
Joining Davie on the album are some friendly faces and some of Ireland’s most well-known musicians, including Steve Wickham (from The Waterboys), Darren Holden (from The High Kings) as well as Susan O’Neill (from SON), ELLYD, Clare Sands, Robbie Campion, Martin Quinn, Andrew Quinn and Francie Conway.
… quite a roster, then. The album is sure to be full of Irish charm and the authentic sounds of folk music. Haunted Streets sees Davie at the peak of his storytelling powers, and with the help of fellow musicians, this record has it all, from the sorrowful Farewell Returning Blues to the anthemic Fire ‘n’ Gold.

Tracks from the album have already made Number One
Tracks Secret Light, Flames on the River, Fire ‘n’ Gold and The Final Frontier have all reached number one as singles on the Irish Singer-Songwriter and Rock download charts. And rightly so – just take a listen!
These singles have also earned a place on the RTE Radio 1 recommended list as well as being dubbed PlayIrish song of the week on many regional stations including KCLR and Ocean FM.
The emotion driven lyrics sung by the raw Irish vocals of Davie, along with the incredible individuality of every song, has made Davie capture the attention of listeners everywhere.
Davie has been nominated for numerous awards
It’s no surprise that Davie has caught the ears of award critics. His killer vocals, poetic lyrics and pure musical talent have seem him be nominated for awards numerous times.
He has been recognised by The Pure M Awards. He was nominated three years in a row for Best Newcomer, Best Male Artist and Best Irish Solo Act.
“An excellently produced album with very dramatic songs. Definitely one to watch out for!”

My review from my sneak preview
What struck me the most about this album, is just how dramatic it is. Songs like Who I Am and The Ghost in Me and Just like the Wind have such an genuine and honest sound.
It’s also nice to hear that quintessential Irish authenticity in instrument choices, which gives the album an original and unique folk-rock sound.
I’m sure Davie’s second album, Haunted Streets will be just as successful as his debut album. Haunted Streets is out 19th February.
